For centuries, Vastu Shastra has guided the way homes, offices and buildings are designed, with the belief that harmony in space brings harmony in life. Among its many suggested remedies, one stands out for both its aesthetic appeal and spiritual significance, the painting of seven running horses.

According to Vastu experts, this image is more than just decoration. It is believed to channel positive energy, accelerate progress and bring balance to personal and professional life. Horses, in Indian tradition, symbolise strength, courage and vitality. When depicted as seven, they represent the seven directions and the seven virtues considered essential to life.

Priest Shubham Tiwari, speaking to Local 18, explained that the painting is regarded as a symbol of “success and good luck”. He said that if placed correctly, it can lead to prosperity in business, growth in career and harmony at home. “The speed of the horses reflects speed in life, while their presence inspires patience, wisdom, courage, love, purity and spiritual awakening,” he added.

Placement, however, is considered crucial. Vastu Shastra attaches special importance to directions:

  • South direction: Believed to attract fame and recognition, making it especially beneficial for people in politics, media and public life.
  • North direction: Associated with wealth and career growth. Experts recommend this placement for businesspersons and professionals seeking prosperity.
  • East direction: Considered the direction of sunrise, symbolizing fresh beginnings and opportunities. Placing the picture here is said to boost career advancement.

Another key principle is orientation. The horses should always face inward, symbolizing energy entering the home or workplace. Outward-facing horses, according to Vastu, may reverse the desired effect. Equally important is the number – there must be seven horses, no more, no less, as the number is regarded as a symbol of perfection and balance.

In today’s world, where people constantly search for ways to bring positivity and progress into their lives, the age-old belief in the painting of seven running horses continues to hold its ground.
