When Salman Khan helped 'Aashiqui' star Rahul Roy with his medical expenses: ‘Mere liye woh bohat acche hain’

Rahul Roy once suffered a stroke, and quite selflessley, Salman Khan pitched in and helped his family in clearing all of the pending medical bills

Salman Khan is known for extending a helping hand to many people in the industry, without seeking anything in return. When ‘Aashiqui’ star Rahul Roy suffered a brain stroke while shooting, he faced a medical crisis with staggering financial strain. Everyone knows about the actor’s recovery, but what several people didn’t know was that during this crisis, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ star Salman Khan extended financial support to Rahul Roy. In a heartwarming gesture that only came to light years later when the actor himself revealed the truth, Salman quietly cleared all of Rahul’s pending hospital bills.

When Rahul Roy revealed that Salman Khan cleared his medical bills

Rahul Roy suffered a stroke on November 29, 2020, while filming for one of his projects, ‘LAC – Live the Battle’ in Kargil. What followed was a battle for him; however, Salman Khan stepped in and made things much easier. In an old interview with Bollywood Hungama, Roy revealed that one reason he recovered without much tension was because of Salman Khan. Years later, the actor revealed that his medical bills, which had piled up after his stroke, were completely paid and cleared by the ‘Kick’ actor.Calling Salman a ‘gem’ of a person, he added, “Sab kehte hain Salman ye hai, woh hai… mere liye woh bohat acche hain (People say this and that about Salman Khan… but for me, he is a gem of a person).” He also shared that the two had known each other for a long time and “we worked together in Majhdhaar (1996). We have good memories together.”

Rahul Roy’s sister, Hari Maa, also praised the ‘Dabangg’ actor

In the same interview, Hari Maa (formerly Priyanka Roy), Roy’s sister, also talked about Khan’s actions, adding, “The most beautiful thing is Salman did not speak about it in front of the media. This touched my heart. This man is a gem. Somebody out of the whole crowd comes and asks in reality if you are actually in trouble and helps you. This is called being a star. Not just being a star in front of the camera.”They both shared that a part of the bill was cleared by the director of ‘LAC’, however, there were a lot of pending bills left that Salman Khan cleared without any hesitation or any reward in return.Rahul Roy was treated for his brain stroke at Wockhardt Hospital, where an angiography was performed. He was later shifted to the ICU ward at Nanavati Hospital for recovery. Go to Source
