Alia Bhatt joined Varun Dhawan as a guest on the second episode of Amazon Prime’s talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. Alia on Losing Weight After Pregnancy

Recommended Stories

Like many new mothers, Alia experienced weight gain during pregnancy. However, her body shed the extra kilos faster than most. Explaining the process, she shared, “After giving birth to Raha, I actually put on quite a bit of weight. I was breastfeeding, and it burns a lot of calories, and I was also eating clean. So I lost a lot of the weight quite quickly.”

Breastfeeding, combined with mindful eating, played a major role in her recovery, naturally speeding up her return to her pre-pregnancy weight.

Facing Criticism for Quick Transformation

While many applauded her transformation, Alia also became a target of online trolling. Some social media users speculated that she had relied on shortcuts or extreme methods.

Recalling the scrutiny, Alia said, “I remember there was a picture that came out and they were like oh my god, there were trolls, like she has done this through unnatural process. ‘Why did she have to lose weight so quickly. It’s fine, take your time, Alia.’ I saw this and I was like ‘oh no, it just happened naturally this way’.”

A Reminder About Postpartum Journeys

Alia’s experience highlights an important reality, every woman’s postpartum journey is unique. Weight loss can depend on a range of factors including metabolism, genetics, daily routine, and lifestyle. For some, the process is gradual, while for others, it happens more quickly.

Her story is a reminder that shedding weight after childbirth doesn’t always involve intense workouts or medical intervention. In many cases, as Alia pointed out, even natural processes like breastfeeding contribute to burning calories and regaining balance.
