Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh, on the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. A solemn tribute ceremony was organized at the memorial, where Singh honoured the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces personnel who fought in the 1999 Kargil conflict. The day, observed every year on July 26, commemorates India’s historic victory in Operation Vijay and celebrates the valour of the soldiers who defended the nation’s borders. During the ceremony, Rajnath Singh remembered the martyrs and paid respects to their families. He also honoured the relatives of fallen soldiers and handed over sacred urns as part of the commemorative events. A grand Shaurya Sandhya was also organized at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass to mark the 27th anniversary of Operation Vijay. The event highlighted the bravery, dedication, and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the country during the 1999 war.
