‘Every misadventure by Pakistan will draw response beyond their imagination’: Rajnath Singh on Vijay Diwas

'Every misadventure by Pakistan will draw response beyond their imagination': Rajnath Singh on Vijay Diwas

NEW DELHI: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, saying every “misadventure” would invite a response “beyond their imagination”.While addressing the nation on the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh, he said, “”Our intention is clear. There will be no talks with Pakistan. If there are any talks, they will be only on PoK, which is a part of India and illegally occupied by Pakistan.””At present, Pakistan has made terrorism a part of its government policy, and the distinction between the military and militants has completely disappeared there. The army not only protects terrorist organizations but also works closely with them. Therefore, during Operation Sindoor, we made it clear that India will no longer view terrorists and the governments that support them separately,” he added.

Drawing a sharp contrast between India and Pakistan, Defence minister Rajnath Singh further said that India is focused on innovation, technology and development, while Pakistan continues to promote infiltration and terrorism.”India is pursuing innovation, while Pakistan is seeking new ways of infiltration. While India is designing ships, Pakistan is engaged in designing terrorism,” he said.In his address while reiterating India’s firm stand on Pakistan, Rajnath Singh said there would be no talks with Islamabad, except on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which he described as an integral part of India under illegal occupation. “Our intention is clear. There will be no talks with Pakistan. If there are any talks, they will be only on PoK, which is a part of India and illegally occupied by Pakistan.” ‘Indebted to all those valiant soldiers’In an X post on Sunday, Singh wrote, “On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, I pay my deepest respects to all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the defense of our motherland. The nation will forever remain grateful and indebted to all those valiant soldiers who demonstrated extraordinary valor on the inaccessible peaks of Kargil in 1999.”He added that the Indian Army’s indomitable courage, sacrifice and unwavering resolve would continue to inspire future generations with patriotism, dedication to duty and “the spirit of offering everything for the motherland.” ‘Army fully prepared’Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that the Indian Army is “fully prepared” to tackle any challenge, saying the “intent of infiltrators” has remained unchanged since the 1999 Kargil conflict.Speaking to Army personnel at a Shaurya Bhoj in Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas, after attending Shaurya Sandhya at the Kargil War Memorial, Singh paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 war and said that while India celebrates their sacrifice, the country must remain vigilant against continuing threats such as proxy war and cross-border infiltration.”We have to remember that even today challenges have not reduced; the intent of infiltrators hasn’t changed, and even today it adopts tools like a proxy war or infiltration,” Singh said, in an apparent reference to Pakistan.”I am fully assured that our Army is fully prepared for any such challenges,” he added.Observed every year on July 26, Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War, honours the 527 soldiers who laid down their lives during Operation Vijay and pays tribute to the courage of thousands who fought in one of the world’s toughest battlefields.
