Watch: IDF says fighting continues in Gaza amid Trump’s peace plan, targets Hamas ‘terror squads’

Fighting continues in parts of Gaza even as US President Donald Trump has urged Israel to pause its bombing under a Gaza peace plan, IDF said. The army reported carrying out several airstrikes targeting Hamas operatives planning attacks, a day after halting its ground operation in Gaza City.

Fighting continues in parts of Gaza even as US President Donald Trump has ordered Israel to halt its bombing as part of a Gaza peace plan, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

The IDF said it had targeted a Hamas “terror cell” planning attacks. It reported carrying out several airstrikes in response to Hamas attacks, a day after pausing its ground operation in Gaza City.

Skirmishes continued despite the temporary halt.

According to a report from The Times of Israel, One strike by Israeli Air Force jets targeted a cell armed with mortars and explosives, killing the fighters.

The army said the group “had planned to carry out terror attacks against troops operating in Gaza City.”

“Forces from Division 98 eliminated several terrorist cells that were advancing terror plans against the forces in the Gaza City area,” the IDF said in a post on X, sharing a video.

The Israeli army added that fighter jets struck a group of armed men carrying mortars and explosives who, it said, “had planned to carry out terror attacks against troops operating in Gaza City,” killing the group.

Another strike hit a cell firing mortars at soldiers in Gaza City, lightly wounding one soldier, who was taken to hospital and whose family was informed. The IDF said the operatives launching the mortars were killed.

In a third incident, Hamas operatives fired rocket-propelled grenades at engineering vehicles used by the 98th Division, causing no injuries. Fighter jets then struck the building from which the projectiles were fired, according to the IDF.
