'Bharat must be heard': RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat says India's voice vital for global welfare

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

NEW DELHI: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that India possesses a holistic and integrated worldview that can help address the challenges facing humanity, and declared that for the welfare of the world, “Bharat must be heard”.Addressing the valedictory session of the three-day national conference on “Operationalising NEP 2020: Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems”, organised by Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) at the Art of Living International Centre in Bengaluru, Bhagwat said India’s civilisational vision offers a more complete approach to resolving contemporary global problems.”To make it complete, on the basis of our complete vision, for the welfare of all beings across the world, Bharat must be heard. This is inevitable,” Bhagwat said, according to a press release issued after the event. He argued that prevailing global frameworks provide only partial perspectives and are therefore inadequate to fully address the world’s challenges.”Our work is in fact to give completeness to the world,” he said, describing the work of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal as part of a broader civilisational mission.Bhagwat said the Indian worldview does not dismiss other perspectives as incorrect, noting that every society develops its own understanding based on its historical and cultural experiences. Referring to the Indian principle of “Anekata” (plurality), he said it embraces diversity and encourages “Shastrartha”, philosophical dialogue and debate, to understand differing viewpoints. He added that truth is too vast to be confined to any single perspective. The RSS chief also said that Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal’s approach to education is rooted in a holistic Indian philosophy that addresses human beings in their entirety, going beyond material concerns and the tendency to measure everything solely in economic terms.Bhagwat also launched the new website of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal during the event. The three-day conference, attended by around 380 delegates from across the country, was inaugurated on Friday by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, the release said.
