Surat Police Bust High-Profile Sex Racket; 13 Thai Women Rescued, 9 Arrested

Surat police busted a high-profile sex racket operating out of a hotel in Jahangirpura. 13 Thai women were rescued and nine persons were arrested.

Surat police and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) conducted a late-night raid in a hotel in Jahangirpura and busted a high-profile sex racket. 13 Thai women were rescued from the hotel and nine persons were arrested.

Among the 9 arrested, five were customers and four hotel staff. As per a report by Times of India, the raid was based on a tip-off. The police reached the hotel on Saturday night and found the hotel door on the fourth floor was locked from inside.

The police broke the door and entered the hotel, catching all accused red-handed.

Used WhatsApp To Communicate

Sharing information on the operation of the racket, police said accused were using WhatsApp. The clients were charged between Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,000, while the Thai women received only Rs 1,500.

The arrested people include hotel managers Rupesh Mishra alias Maxi and Bipin Babariya alias Bunty, housekeeping staff Sanjay Hingade and Rahul Solanki, and five clients.

Report also mentions that the mastermind of this racket is a wanted accused who had been arrested from the same hotel six months ago – Vijay Kasture.

Kasture used to circulate the pictures of the Thai women to the clients. His helpers, Mishra and Babariya, admitted that customers entered only after Kasture’s approval. A QR code linked to Yogesh Talekar’s bank account, allegedly used for digital payments by clients.

Eight mobile phones, cash, condoms, and other incriminating items were seized. All accused have been booked under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, and Jahangirpura police continue the investigation.
