When Alex Cooper revealed her diagnosis

Last month, Alex Cooper revealed that she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which is ‘high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth,’ according to the National Health Service. “I’m not gonna cry on the internet because I’ve never cried on the internet, but when I tell you, I almost did,” she said in the clip, before explaining, “It is when the placenta hormones cause insulin resistance, a.k.a., your pancreas cannot create enough insulin to keep your blood sugar normal.”“I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level – literally anyone is susceptible to getting it,” she mentioned. As per the NHS, the diagnosis is usually witnessed in the second or third trimester, but can happen in any point in pregnancy.Alex Cooper announced her pregnancy on May 17, 2026, with the caption ‘Our family,’ showcasing the baby bump.
