After Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, the Congress has intensified its criticism of Home Minister Amit Shah over the Delhi Police action during the CJP march at Jantar Mantar on July 20. The party has demanded accountability for the alleged police crackdown on protesting students and announced plans to raise the issue politically and in Parliament. Congress shared a video of the police action on its official social media handle and questioned the role of Amit Shah, claiming that such a large-scale police response in the national capital could not have happened without directions from the Home Ministry. The party alleged that students and young protesters were beaten and chased during the protest. Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had also raised concerns over the incident during a press interaction, stating that accountability would be fixed for the action against students. With the issue gaining political momentum, the opposition is preparing to corner the government and seek answers from Amit Shah over the handling of the protest.
