Nepal’s youth protesters have proposed Sushika Karki, a former chief justice, as the head of the country’s interim government.
Karki was pitched as the interim leader of the country in a virtual meeting on Wednesday. However, there has not been any consensus, and it is not known whether the name has been formally conveyed to President Ram Chandra Paudel as part of Army-facilitated talks.
Formally, as per the Constitution, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will run the caretaker government until the formation of the new government. Oli had resigned as the prime minister on Tuesday.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.
