Goo Goo Dolls member, John Rzeznik recalls working with Taylor Swift; shares what 'impressed' him the most

Over the years, Taylor Swift has worked with several artists in the industry. This also includes the famed Goo Goo Dolls member, John Rzeznik. The two collaborated back in 2011, when Swift was on her ‘Speak Now’ tour. In a recent interview, the veteran musician recalled what it was like to perform and work together with the pop icon.

John Rzeznik says something stood out to him while working with Taylor Swift

Rzeznik recently sat down at the American Music Awards this year with PEOPLE to look back at some of the memorable moments from his career. This even included his collaboration with the ‘Opalite’ singer back in 2011, when the two sang together on her ‘Speak Now’ tour.At the time, the ‘Slide’ singer revealed that he saw something in Swift at the time that he started to admire in her. Adding more context, he stated, “What impressed me, because at the time she was still very young, and I expected a bunch of handlers to come and deal with me because I was a guest, but she did. I just remember thinking, ‘This woman’s got her s— together.’” At the time, Swift was only 21 years old.

John Rzeznik on how his song ‘Iris’ ended up getting even more popular after Taylor Swift’s concert

As per the singer, Goo Goo Dolls’ song, ‘Iris’ was released in connection to the film, City of Angels’, however, even after the film ‘faded away’, the song continued to make rounds, and became one of their most popular tunes. Years later, he and Swift shared the stage during her tour and together performed a version of ‘Iris.’Talking about the song’s impact and performing it with Swift, he shared, “I think that it connected more after that. And then I got to sing with Taylor Swift, and then all these other people just started covering it.”During the interview, he was even asked whether he would consider performing at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding ceremony. The singer expressed his congratulations to the couple, and then continued that if he were approached about the matter, he would love to do so. Go to Source
