Tourism Australia has announced the next chapter of its global “Come and say G’day” campaign. The second chapter of the highly effective platform launched in India on August 20, 2025, brings back the much-loved animated Brand Ambassador, Ruby the Souvenir Kangaroo.

This time, the campaign becomes even more exciting as entrepreneur and philanthropist Sara Tendulkar joins in, making it more relatable for Indian travellers. Sara, daughter of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has already given audiences a glimpse of the campaign on her Instagram.

On Instagram, Sara posted a video that beautifully captures the essence of the Australian holiday experience. She is seen soaking up the serene coastal beauty, spending a calm moment by the beach with a friend. Accompanied by a soft background score, her voiceover narrates the charm of Australia as she says, “Best part of Australia? Easy. Feeling like we had it all to ourselves.”

The caption reads, “You don’t have to go far in Australia to feel like you’ve got the whole place to yourself.”

She tagged iconic destinations such as the Great Ocean Road, Melbourne, and Victoria, along with Australia’s official tourism handle.

A New Approach Towards Tourism

Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager – India & Gulf, Tourism Australia, shared that while earlier Tourism Australia campaigns usually featured a single well-known face in their global marketing initiatives, the latest campaign is different. It highlights the unforgettable memories of an Australian holiday through the perspectives of Indian travellers, including Sara Tendulkar.

PTI quoted Kashikar saying, “Our new campaign extends a bespoke invitation to Indian travellers to visit Australia and experience a holiday that lasts a lifetime. The campaign creative has been tailored for cultural nuances and showcases the sort of tourism experiences Indian travellers are looking for. We couldn’t be more excited to work with Sara Tendulkar on our new campaign – her connection with Australia made her the perfect fit. We’re equally excited to officially welcome her into our Friend of Australia advocacy program.”

Sara Tendulkar’s Connection with Australia

For Sara, this collaboration is more than just a campaign; it is also a personal journey. Having grown up watching her father, Sachin Tendulkar, on his many cricket tours to Australia, she has always felt a deep connection with the country

Sharing her excitement, Sara said, “There is something about Australia that keeps calling me back. I have always felt so welcomed. I am touched and excited to be able to share a slice of the unforgettable memories I have made Down Under in Tourism Australia’s Come and say G’day campaign. From the bustling cities to the relaxing beaches and curious wildlife, I know that travellers in India will be captivated by the diversity and warmth Australia has to offer. Whether it’s going surfing, snorkelling, eating amazing food, or the coffee culture, the memories I have made on a holiday in Australia are the souvenirs I take back home with me.”

The Growth in the Australian Tourism Industry

The campaign also arrives at a time when the Australian tourism industry is witnessing steady growth after the revival of global travel in 2022. According to Tourism Research Australia, international arrivals are expected to reach a record 10 million by 2026 and rise further to 11.8 million by 2029.
