Akshay Kumar has often been hailed as one of the most disciplined and hardworking actors in Bollywood, and his Welcome To The Jungle co-star Akshara Singh has now shared an incident that further highlights his commitment to his craft. The Bhojpuri actress, who made a special appearance in the song Ghis Ghis Ghis from the recently released action-comedy, recalled how Akshay continued shooting despite suffering from a high fever.

‘He had a fever of 103-104 degrees while shooting’

Speaking to ANI, Akshara praised the actor’s professionalism and revealed that he was battling a severe viral infection during the shoot.”The biggest thing was that he had a fever of 103-104 degrees while shooting. I kept observing him and realised how much he loves his work and his craft. He works with a great sense of responsibility and dedication,” she said.According to the actress, despite being visibly unwell, Akshay did not allow his condition to affect the production schedule. Instead of taking extended breaks in his vanity van, he chose to continue filming and remain on set.Akshara was particularly impressed by how the actor managed to hide his discomfort once the cameras started rolling. She shared that the moment the director called for action, Akshay transformed completely, bringing his trademark energy and infectious smile to the performance despite his illness.

A dream opportunity for the Bhojpuri star

For Akshara, who is among the most popular and highest-paid actresses in Bhojpuri cinema, sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar was a memorable milestone.Recalling how she landed the song in Ahmed Khan’s directorial venture, she said, “I received a call from Ahmed Sir’s production house. I was told there’s a song in Welcome To The Jungle and that I had to do it.”Initially unsure about the offer, the actress said her hesitation disappeared after she received a call from renowned choreographer Ganesh Acharya.”He asked me if I would do the song. I asked what kind of song it was, and he said it’s a wonderful track and that I would really like it. He encouraged me to do it. And the moment I heard Ganesh sir and Akshay sir’s name, I was completely blank,” she revealed. Welcome To The Jungle features a massive ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani and Jackie Shroff.
