For Rakul Preet Singh, fitness isn’t about chasing a perfect body. It’s about building strength, balance, and mental clarity. Known as one of Bollywood’s fittest stars, she treats movement as an essential part of her day, no matter where her schedule takes her.

“If I don’t sweat it out, I just don’t feel like myself,” Rakul Preet Singh shared in a recent conversation with Soha Ali Khan for Mashable. For her, working out isn’t a chore. It’s a form of meditation and the fuel that keeps her going.

A Routine That Travels With Her

No matter how hectic her calendar, Rakul ensures she clocks in at least an hour of physical activity. Gym workouts are her go-to, but when access is limited, she adapts. From bodyweight moves like squats and lunges to trekking or playing a sport, she finds a way to keep moving. This flexibility, she believes, makes fitness sustainable over the long run.

Lessons From Injury

Rakul admits that her approach wasn’t always this mindful. In her 20s, she often skipped warm-ups – until a back injury left her bedridden for a month. That experience reshaped her perspective. “Once you hit 30, you realise warm-ups are essential,” she explained. Today, she never compromises on preparing her body before exercise, focusing on posture, pelvic stability, and correct form to avoid strain. Training five to six times a week, she also uses her fitness watch to track progress by monitoring calories, steps, heart rate, and even sleep quality.

Fueling Her Body Right

Discipline for Rakul extends to her plate as well. She follows a clean diet but emphasises balance over restriction. Sundays are reserved for her cheat meals, such as pizza, pasta, and desserts included, because indulgence, in moderation, keeps her motivated. Depending on the intensity of her sessions, she tailors her nutrition: fasted cardio on some mornings, but always fueling up before strength training. Her post-workout choices are simple yet nourishing – eggs with a thin roti or a vegan protein smoothie blended with almond butter and banana.

The “Power Hour” Philosophy

What sets Rakul apart is how she frames fitness as her daily reset. She often calls her workouts her “power hour,” the time that recharges her physically and mentally. It’s not just about sculpting muscles or tracking calories. It’s about creating a lifestyle that sustains her energy, confidence, and clarity. For Rakul Preet Singh, fitness is not just a routine. It’s her way of life.
