Severe weather conditions have created a crisis in several parts of India, with cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and rising rivers disrupting normal life. In Jammu and Kashmir, cloudbursts in Kulgam and Bandipora triggered sudden floods, sending water, mud, and debris into residential areas. In the Desar area, SDRF teams rescued a family trapped inside their flooded home and cleared blockages in local drains to restore water flow. Bandipora’s Nag Marg area also witnessed flood-like conditions after a sudden rise in water levels. In Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, a massive landslide blocked a road after rocks and debris came crashing down from the mountain, although no casualties were reported. In Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag, three women stranded amid the strong currents of the Mandakini River were rescued by SDRF teams using ropes and safety equipment. Meanwhile, heavy rains caused floods in parts of Assam, Odisha, and West Bengal. Sivasagar in Assam witnessed rapid flooding, while villages in Mayurbhanj and Jajpur faced connectivity issues. West Midnapore in Bengal also reported waterlogging, with authorities continuing relief and rescue efforts.
