Abaan Ahmed, the youngest son of former Uttar Pradesh gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, will be laid to rest in Prayagraj following his death in a tragic road accident near Jhansi. The burial is scheduled to take place at the family graveyard in Kasari Masari, beside the grave of his father. Abaan was killed after the SUV carrying him and four others reportedly lost control and crashed into a highway divider while traveling from Prayagraj to Jhansi. According to preliminary police findings, the driver attempted to avoid a calf that suddenly appeared on the road, causing the speeding vehicle to veer off course. The impact was severe, claiming the lives of Abaan and his friend Sonu at the scene, while other occupants sustained injuries. Police have stated that, based on the initial investigation, the incident appears to be a road accident, though all aspects are being examined as part of the inquiry. Reports indicate that Abaan was on his way to meet his brother Ali Ahmed, who is lodged in Jhansi jail. Family members are expected to attend the funeral, while his brothers Umar and Ali, currently in custody, will not be able to participate. Uncertainty remains over whether his mother, Shaista Parveen, and aunt Zainab Fatima—both wanted by Uttar Pradesh Police—will appear for the last rites. Abaan’s death marks another significant loss for the Ahmed family, which has witnessed multiple high-profile tragedies in recent years, including the deaths of Asad Ahmed, Atiq Ahmed, and Ashraf Ahmed in 2023. Authorities have tightened security arrangements around the funeral proceedings in Prayagraj as the final rites are conducted amid heightened public attention.
