The proposed ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, scheduled for 8 August in Prayagraj, has received permission after it was initially cancelled by the venue management. The approval was restored after Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai submitted a written assurance that the party would ensure the safety of the sports ground, follow court directives, and compensate for any damage if required. Following the renewed permission, Congress workers resumed preparations for the event with renewed enthusiasm. Party leaders described the decision as a victory for truth and said it reflected the trust that students have placed in Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had commented on the student protests in Ranchi, stating that governments, including Jharkhand’s, should listen to students’ concerns. He reiterated that protests across the country highlight serious issues in the education system. Rahul Gandhi said he had raised these concerns in Dehradun and Kota and would continue to do so in Prayagraj, arguing that India’s education system is facing a severe crisis.
