The Brahmaputra River is flowing above the danger mark in several areas, inundating homes, damaging roads, and isolating villages. Sonitpur, Darrang, and Udalguri districts have reported extensive flooding, with breached embankments, submerged farmland, and disrupted transport networks adding to residents’ hardships. More than 168,000 people across 15 districts remain affected, while the flood-related death toll has reached 97. Relief operations continue as authorities monitor vulnerable regions and assess infrastructure damage. With forecasts warning of further heavy rainfall, emergency agencies remain on alert to prevent additional loss of life and property.
