Bargi Dam Tragedy: 9 Dead, 6 Missing After Tourist Cruise Capsizes in Jabalpur Storm

A tragic boating accident at Bargi Dam in Jabalpur has claimed at least nine lives after a tourist cruise capsized during severe weather conditions. According to officials, the vessel was carrying 39 passengers when it lost balance amid strong winds and sudden turbulence, eventually sinking into the water. The Madhya Pradesh government has announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹4 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives. This incident has raised serious concerns over tourist safety and weather preparedness at popular water bodies. As rescue teams continue their search for the missing, the focus remains on providing medical care to survivors and support to grieving families.
