Velmurugan gifts gold chain to GV Prakash

Velmurugan gifts gold chain to GV Prakash engraved with the words '100 Films GV Sir' to celebrate his 100-film milestone

Music director and actor GV Prakash recently turned a year older, and it has become an even more memorable birthday for him due to the celebrations that took place. His birthday was a great day because it coincided with an important professional landmark he achieved. He is currently known as the only film music composer who has written songs for more than 100 movies.

Velmurugan gifts gold chain to honour GV Prakash’s 100-film journey

One of the most touching moments from the celebration came when popular folk singer Velmurugan gifted GV Prakash a gold chain engraved with the words “100 Films GV Sir.” As a mark of respect and gratitude, Velmurugan personally placed the chain around GV Prakash’s neck in the presence of his daughter and music composer N.R. Raghunanthan. The act quickly captured the attention of fans, who noticed the deep connection between the two musicians who have been working together for years.

From ‘Aadukalam’ to ‘Parasakthi’: A partnership that created hits

Although Velmurugan had performed songs for various movies earlier, GV Prakash gave him a chance in ‘Aadukalam’ that marked his career and opened up many opportunities. The collaboration also offered some very interesting tunes like ‘Otha Sollaala,’ ‘Pottadhu Pathala,’ ‘Karuppu Nirathazhagi,’ and ‘Kathari Poovazhagi.’ From ‘Aadukalam’ to the recent ‘Parasakthi,’ GV Prakash has provided Velmurugan opportunities in nearly 25 films, helping him become one of Tamil cinema’s leading folk singers.

Velmurugan gets emotional

Speaking about his relationship with GV Prakash, Velmurugan shared that the composer played a key role in shaping his life and career. He said that his journey of singing thousands of songs and performing across the world was made possible by the opportunities GV Prakash gave him. “If my family and I are living happily today, a major reason is the chances he gave me,” he said. The singer added that the gold chain was simply a small expression of his gratitude toward someone who had illuminated his path in the music industry.
