In a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay Kumar recalled the era when per-day payments were the industry standard. He said, “Uss time mujhe achhe khaase mil jaate thay; din ka mil jata tha 8 se 9 lakh rupee (Back then, I used to get a pretty good amount; I would earn around Rs 8 to Rs 9 lakh per day).”
