Toxic actor Huma DEFENDS Kiara-Yash amid ‘Tabaahi’ row

‘Toxic’ actor Huma Qureshi DEFENDS co-stars Kiara Advani-Yash amid ‘Tabaahi’ row, calls trolling “sick, disgusting”

Huma Qureshi slammed trolls for criticising Kiara Advani’s intimate scenes with Yash in Toxic’s ‘Tabaahi’, calling it “sick, disgusting.” She noted Yash faced no similar backlash despite being married too, and said women in the film will “have the last laugh.” Trolls also targeted Kiara’s husband, Sidharth Malhotra. Toxic releases August 26.

Kiara Advani is being trolled for her scenes with Yash in ‘Tabaahi’, a song from the movie ‘Toxic’. Many are asking why a married woman and mother would do such scenes. But Yash, who is also married, hasn’t received the same kind of hate for the exact same scenes. Reacting to this, Huma Qureshi said the women from the film will have the last laugh once it comes out, basically saying the movie itself will shut down the critics.

Huma Qureshi calls the trolling “sick, disgusting”

Speaking on Yuvaa’s Be A Man, Yaar!, host brought up how Kiara faced far more backlash for her intimate moments in ‘Tabaahi’ compared to Yash, even though both actors are married. Responding to this, Huma said, “It’s sick. It’s disgusting, absolutely. But I think women in this film, the actresses and the directors will have the last laugh. There’s no point in trying to defend something at all because you can’t change people’s mindset with words. I would just let the film do the talking. kaun hai yeh log? (who are these people?) I think the world is a very kind place, but the internet is not.”

Trolls target Sidharth Malhotra too

Kiara has been dealing with a wave of criticism and rude comments ever since ‘Tabaahi’, the debut song from Yash’s Toxic, dropped, mostly targeting her intimate scenes in the video. Trolls extended their attacks to her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, flooding his Instagram with similar remarks. What started out as criticism of Kiara’s professional choices soon turned into unwanted commentary on her personal life, her marriage, and her bond with Sidharth.

Co-star Benedict Garrett also backs Kiara Advani amid the ‘Toxic’ backlash

Benedict Garrett, who features in Geetu Mohandas’ ‘Toxic’, also came out in support of Kiara, saying, “You see, Yash, he’s also married, he also has children. So why is only the woman getting the abuse, while the man apparently gets the applause? Listen, here’s the reality check. They are actors. Their job is to act, to portray characters, to make you believe that they are in love, even when they’re not. Their job is to tell stories that reflect the human experience.” Alongside the post, he wrote, “The backlash over the Tabahi music video says far more about society than it does about either actor.”
