India face Afghan challenge at CAFA Nations Cup 2025

The Blue Tigers fought hard against the world No 20 Iran, but defensive errors proved to be their undoing. Nonetheless, they now have a chance to redeem their campaign.

Khalid Jamil is expected to make a few changes, especially in the midfield, as they look to freshen up the starting XI for the Afghan battle.

It will be important to note that India last beat Afghanistan three years ago in Kolkata, while their last match against the Asian team ended in a defeat in Guwahati in March 2024. Overall in 22 matches, India have 13 wins over Afghanistan, who have secured two victories.
