Mookanahalli village in Mysuru district of Karnataka, has been shaken by a disturbing incident. A confrontation fueled by suspicion, betrayal, and anger ended in a violent tragedy when a man allegedly hacked his wife to death after discovering her with her lover. What began as a marital dispute over infidelity spiraled into a deadly crime that has left the community stunned.

Affair Sparks Domestic Tension

The couple at the center of the case were Vijay and Geetha, residents of Mookanahalli. According to reports, Geetha had been carrying on an affair with a man named Dileep. Locals said Vijay had repeatedly warned his wife about the relationship and urged her to end it.

But the warnings went unheeded. Geetha continued to meet Dileep, creating growing tension within the marriage.

In recent months, Vijay is said to have become increasingly frustrated and humiliated by the situation. His suspicions and anger deepened after reports surfaced that his wife was allegedly drugging him with sleeping pills to spend time alone with her lover.

Sleeping Pills and a Secret Meeting

On the night of the incident, Vijay had stepped out of the house, and Dileep allegedly arrived to meet Geetha. When Vijay unexpectedly returned home, he claims to have found the two together. Enraged, he confronted them, leading to a heated exchange that quickly escalated into violence.

During the altercation, Geetha allegedly tried to attack Vijay with a machete. In the scuffle that followed, Vijay wrested the weapon from her and chased her through the house. The fight ended when he struck her with the machete, killing her instantly.

Violence Turns Toward Lover

Not stopping at his wife, Vijay turned his fury on Dileep. Reports suggest he attacked him with a stick, fracturing his leg. Severely injured, Dileep was rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where he is undergoing treatment.

Police later confirmed that Dileep had sustained multiple injuries but is expected to survive. Soon after the crime, law enforcement officers, including Mysuru Superintendent of Police Vishnuvardhan, visited the scene.

The Hunsur Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the chain of events that led to the killing. Forensic teams also examined the crime scene, collecting evidence to piece together the sequence of the attack. Vijay has been taken into custody, and formal charges are expected to follow.

A Crime Rooted in Betrayal

The incident has once again highlighted the rising number of violent cases linked to marital disputes and illicit affairs in rural Karnataka. While communities reel from the brutality of the killing, the case underscores how unresolved domestic conflicts can erupt into tragedy.

For Mookanahalli’s residents, the story is one of betrayal, unchecked anger, and irreversible loss. A marriage shattered by infidelity has ended in a violent crime, leaving behind a trail of grief, scandal, and unanswered questions about trust, loyalty, and justice.
