When Jason Sudeikis almost refused to star in ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4

Jason Sudeikis opens up on almost rejecting ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: ‘I needed it as much as other people do’

Jason Sudeikis almost did not return for season four of Ted Lasso. However, once he saw how much the show eant to fans, he agreed to do another season.

In recent years, ‘Ted Lasso’ is one of Jason Sudeikis’ most popular and highly watched shows. While the series has created a lot of excitement with its release, did you know that the Hollywood star almost refused to work on the series’ upcoming season? During one of his latest interviews, Sudeikis admitted that at first, he almost said no to the proposal for Season 4 when it landed on his table.

Jason Sudeikis on almost rejecting ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sudeikis revealed that he personally felt that his character’s story had been told already, and that he did not wish to change everything all over again in a new season. Weighing in on the matter, he shared, “That wasn’t a negotiation tactic. The story was told. Ted went home [to Kansas City] to be with his son. I wasn’t going to have Ted uproot their life to justify the money truck. It made no sense to me.”Sudeikis also added that money was never the issue. According to the report, Sudeikis was receiving USD 1 million for every episode he worked on by season 3 of the beloved show. However, what made him change his mind were the fans. He shared that he saw how much the role and the show meant to people around the world, and that he had to join the series again because of all this. He added, “It (the show) saved me, too.” Sudekis also mentioned, “It is infectious to play a character who sees the best in people and isn’t mad at the world for all its foibles and bullies and shadows. It’s not like I’m Daniel Day-Lewis, but it was good to live in that — to have that coursing through your brain and your body all day. It still is. I know I needed this. I needed it as much as other people do.”
