Mahindra’s first ‘born-electric’ SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, have reached a milestone of 20,000 owners in just five months since launch, according to an official press release. Together, the two electric SUVs have clocked 9.3 crore kilometres, marking a significant step in the company’s electric mobility journey.

Built on INGLO platform

Both SUVs are based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, the company’s first skateboard EV architecture. The platform features a flat-floor structure designed to improve efficiency, performance and design flexibility. According to the company, it provides the foundation for Mahindra’s future electric line-up.

Design highlights

The release added that the XEV 9e carries a distinct design language with an integrated LED light bar, vertical lighting elements, a closed grille with Mahindra’s EV emblem, and a streamlined bonnet. The BE 6e, meanwhile, draws design inspiration from the XUV 3XO, highlighted by its lighting elements and unique BE branding.

Despite their differences, both models share several features, including connected LED tail lights, large alloy wheels up to 18 inches, and pronounced wheel arches.

Performance and adoption

Mahindra claims that the eSUVs deliver more than 500 km of real-world range, supported by their design and performance capabilities. The company noted that the growing number of owners and the total distance covered within a short period underline the rising acceptance of electric vehicles in India.
