NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken stock of the incident, after a car blast near Red Fort rocked the national capitial on Monday evening, as per government sources. He was briefed by home minster Amit Shah on the situation.At least eight people and 24 have been injured in the blast. The cause is yet to be known, as investigation in under way.
Amit Shah has spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Director of the Intelligence Bureau to take stock of the situation following the blast near Red Fort, ANI sources said. An explosion happened in that vehicle, and due to the explosion, nearby vehicles were also damaged. All agencies, FSL, NIA, are here… Some people have died, and some have been injured in the incident. The situation is being monitored. The Home Minister has also called us, and information is being shared with him from time to time,” said Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha.
