A devastating road accident occurred early Sunday morning near Badlapur on the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway when a BMW Z-series sports car reportedly traveling at speeds of up to 251 km/h lost control and crashed into a divider. The impact was so severe that the vehicle flipped multiple times, broke into several pieces, and scattered debris across nearly 50 meters of the roadway. The crash claimed the lives of two occupants, including Yogesh Negi and Rebecca Jacob. The driver, Angad Gill, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators are examining multiple aspects of the incident, including excessive speed, vehicle occupancy, and road conditions. Authorities noted that the two-seater sports car was carrying three people at the time of the crash. Officials from the transport department and police have inspected the wreckage and are awaiting forensic findings to determine the exact sequence of events. The tragedy has renewed concerns about reckless driving, illegal speeding, and dangerous stunts reportedly performed on newly developed stretches of road.
