Jamaica on high alert as Hurricane Melissa strengthens into powerful category 5 storm

Hurricane Melissa has intensified into a Category 5 storm, threatening Jamaica with catastrophic flooding, landslides and destructive winds as it moves across the Caribbean. The storm, packing winds of 260 km/h, is expected to make landfall on Tuesday, prompting urgent warnings for residents to take shelter and follow evacuation orders.
