“Balraju tied and tortured his first wife Bhagyamma at Tarlupadu mandal in Prakasam district after suspecting her infidelity,” the official told PTI.

Police stated that Balraju was suffering from a health issue and had sought treatment at a private hospital. He had asked Bhagyamma to bring money for his medical expenses, along with their children.

Bhagyamma refused, stating that she was the sole caretaker of their four children and could not part with money. Enraged by this, Balraju tied his wife to a wooden pole and brutally assaulted her.
