Vishwakarma Puja, which means worshipping Lord Vishwakarma, will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The festival falls on Kanya Sankranti, also referred to as Bhadra Sankranti in Bengali. According to Drik Panchang, Sankranti time will start at 01:55 AM.

The day is celebrated with dedication by workers, engineers, and artisans all over India. In the eastern provinces of West Bengal, Tripura, Odisha, and Jharkhand, it is commonly referred to as Biswakarma Puja.

In Bihar and many of its northern states, the festival is celebrated following Diwali. For the year 2025, it is even given the status of a holiday that is not allowed in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.

Vishwakarma Jayanti: History And Significance

The celebration has its roots in the Rigveda, where Lord Vishwakarma is mentioned as the heavenly craftsman who constructed the city of Dwarka for Lord Krishna and designed divine weapons for the gods.
