Ananya Panday says Gauri Khan, her ‘second mother’, designed her first Mumbai home just as she imagined.
Ananya Panday bought her first home in Mumbai a few years ago, and it was designed by none other than Gauri Khan. Over time, she has frequently shared glimpses of her apartment with fans. Her goal in creating the space was to evoke warmth and a sense of being truly herself at home. The apartment reflects her personality with pastel colours, cosy corners, and personalised touches. Recently, Ananya opened up about why it was so important for her to design the house according to her taste, and how Gauri Khan was the perfect choice to help her with it.
Speaking at the NIF Global, Ananya Panday said, “Interior design is such a personal thing, where it might be like a project for you, but it is also someone’s home where they will be spending every single day. So understanding the person’s personality is very important,”

Ananya noted that establishing her first house with Gauri was about more than just creating a space; it was also about reinforcing a trusting, respectful, and caring relationship. The end result, she indicated, is a home that expresses her personality while conveying the warmth of a designer who has been an important part of her life.
Moreover, Ananya mentioned that her opinions were valued and heard by Gauri Khan. “What I liked about Gauri ma’am was that even though she had known me since I was a kid, she still took me seriously. She saw that this is my first house and I would want to do it in a way… so she never put too many of her opinions or decisions… she left it open to me,” said the actress
