The controversy surrounding the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case has intensified after the resignation of Champat Rai Bansal and Anil Mishra from their positions in the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust was accepted. According to reports, Champat Rai will no longer have an administrative role in the trust, while he is expected to remain associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Krishna Mohan, an Indian Forest Service officer, has been given interim responsibility for handling the trust’s administrative affairs. Questions have been raised over the leadership’s role after allegations of donation theft emerged, although the SIT’s preliminary report has not directly named Champat Rai as an accused. The investigation is still ongoing, and officials indicate that statements from Champat Rai and Anil Mishra may be recorded in the coming days. The case is being investigated through two parallel processes — the SIT probe and the Ayodhya police investigation into the FIR and arrested accused. Meanwhile, police are continuing questioning of suspects, with a court hearing scheduled on the remand plea of three accused.
