The SIT’s preliminary report in the Ram Temple donation theft case, submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government on June 23, 2026, has revealed several major findings about alleged irregularities in the donation handling process. According to the report, some employees allegedly stole cash by hiding currency notes in their pockets, clothes, shoes, and even in bathrooms. CCTV footage reportedly captured employees removing money from bundles and concealing it. The SIT also found that some employees had bank deposits and fixed deposits exceeding their known income, leading investigators to recommend a deeper financial probe. The report suggests that the alleged theft was not an isolated incident but involved a coordinated effort by multiple individuals. Eight accused have already been arrested in the case. Police are continuing their investigation separately and have sought seven-day custody of three accused — Karunesh Pandey, Anukalp Mishra, and Lavkush Mishra. Investigators believe the alleged theft started with small amounts before gradually increasing as the accused gained confidence. Further questioning and financial investigations may reveal additional details and possible involvement of more people.
