Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the growing strategic partnership between India and Indonesia during his visit, emphasizing cooperation across education, technology, trade, culture, and global issues. He announced that the Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru will establish a campus in Indonesia, benefiting youth across the ASEAN region. Both countries also agreed to strengthen collaboration in the space sector through joint research, technology sharing, and capacity building. Modi said new agreements in critical minerals and steel will enhance supply chain resilience, while partnerships in stainless steel and rare earth magnets will open new opportunities. He also welcomed the integration of India’s UPI with Indonesia’s payment system to boost business and tourism. The Prime Minister highlighted shared cultural ties, including cooperation on the conservation of the historic Prambanan Temple and celebrations marking Rabindranath Tagore’s Indonesia visit. He said India and Indonesia share democratic values and common views on the Indo-Pacific, supporting dialogue, diplomacy, and long-term peace. Modi described the relationship as entering a golden era of shared prosperity.
