Vishnu Vishal breaks SILENCE on Vijay fans’ criticism

Vishnu Vishal breaks SILENCE on Vijay fans' criticism, 'Gatta Kusthi 2' star clarifies why he called Rajinikanth 'Thalaivar'

Actor Vishnu Vishal responded to the criticism surrounding his recent comments made during the promotions of ‘Gatta Kusthi 2.’ The sequel to the 2022 sports drama ‘Gatta Kusthi,’ starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, is set to hit theatres soon, on July 3. During the film’s release occasion, the actor discussed how negativity prevails in social media circles, compelling leading actors to refute rumors often. But some fans misinterpreted the statements.

Vishnu Vishal never intended to hurt anyone

Addressing the issue during a media interaction, Vishnu Vishal explained his remarks in detail. As reported by Cinema Vikatan, he said, “I was only repeating what Rajinikanth himself had said about Vijay. Rajinikanth referred to him as ‘Vijay,’ and that’s exactly what I did. Many people are asking why I called Rajinikanth ‘Thalaivar’ while mentioning Vijay by his name. But Rajinikanth himself said ‘Vijay.’ So what is wrong if I repeat the same? I never spoke with the intention of hurting anyone. I was only talking about the hatred and toxicity we see on social media. I will not take back what I said because that was the point I wanted to make.” His clarification came after a section of Vijay fans questioned the way he addressed the two stars during the interview.

Vishnu Vishal’s original comments were about social media toxicity

During the earlier interview, Vishnu Vishal had spoken about the harmful side of social media, pointing out that even Rajinikanth had to publicly clarify that there was no issue between him and Vijay. He elaborated on the fact that rumors fly so fast in the online world that celebrities have to react to some unnecessary controversies. According to the actor, his intention was only to highlight the increasing negativity and hostility on social media platforms, not to compare or disrespect any actor.

‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ promotions continue amid online debate

Despite the controversy, the promotional campaign for Gatta Kusthi 2 is moving ahead as planned. The first movie was well-received because of its sports-centric plotline and the on-screen chemistry of Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi. With the second installment set to premiere on July 3, the actor finally clarified that he did not mean any negativity through his statement and just wanted to address online bullying. This has brought the discussion back on track and onto the movie that fans are eagerly waiting for. Go to Source
