Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar got into a heated argument with a woman Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Anjali Krishna, after the latter allegedly refused to recognise Ajit Pawar’s voice over a phone call.

“How dare you? I will take action against you. You will at least recognise my face, won’t you?”

After this, Pawar reportedly switched to a video call to confront the officer directly. The incident that took place when Krishna had gone to investigate illegal murum (red soil) excavation linked to a road construction project was also captured on camera.

NCP worker Baba Jagtap called Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and handed over the phone to officer Krishna, after which the situation escalated.

“Suno, mai deputy chief minister bol raha hu aur aapko aadesh deta hu ki vo rokwao (Listen, I am the deputy chief minister and giving you the order to stop it),” Pawar was heard saying.
