National News: PM Modi Launches Nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva Campaign to Empower Youth for Viksit Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” campaign, a nationwide youth movement aimed at creating awareness against substance abuse and encouraging young citizens to contribute towards a healthier and stronger India. The virtual launch event witnessed participation from over one crore youths across various states and Union Territories. The programme brought together youth volunteers from the MY Bharat platform, spiritual leaders, government representatives, and social organizations. Participants took a collective pledge to work towards building a drug-free India and spreading awareness among communities about the harmful impact of addiction. Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the role of youth-led initiatives in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He said that the MY Bharat platform has become a major network connecting millions of young volunteers with opportunities for service, leadership, and mentorship. The campaign is planned to involve more than 125 spiritual organizations, MY Bharat volunteers, educational institutions, youth clubs, NGOs, and social groups. Regular awareness programmes, cultural activities, street plays, debates, creative competitions, and community outreach events will be organized to encourage young people to stay away from substance abuse. The initiative follows youth discussions and spiritual conferences where a roadmap was prepared to strengthen the anti-drug movement across the country. A special focus will also be placed on reaching young people in remote areas, including the Northeast region. The launch event featured an inspiring presentation and street theatre by National School of Drama and MY Bharat volunteers, showcasing how addiction can damage dreams and future opportunities. The government emphasized that youth participation and public awareness will be key to transforming the campaign into a nationwide movement for a drug-free and developed India.
