Breaking News: Amit Shah holds Behala roadshow, promises UCC if BJP wins Bengal

On the final day of campaigning for the second phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a high-energy roadshow in Behala West constituency, drawing large crowds of Bharatiya Janata Party supporters. The streets were packed with party workers waving flags, while cultural elements such as drum beats and enthusiastic slogans marked the procession. Voting for 142 assembly seats is scheduled on April 29, making this the concluding and decisive phase of the state elections. Alongside Shah, senior BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Barrackpore and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in North 24 Parganas also intensified campaigning across different regions of Bengal. During his address, Shah sharply criticized the ruling All India Trinamool Congress and expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in West Bengal. He stated that if the party comes to power, it would implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state, framing it as part of the BJP’s broader national policy agenda. The roadshow in Behala witnessed heavy participation from local BJP workers, with visuals showing dense crowds lining the streets. Women supporters were also seen actively participating, including drummers leading parts of the procession. Shah acknowledged supporters as he moved through the constituency, further energizing the campaign atmosphere. The BJP has been making an aggressive push in this final phase, aiming to consolidate gains in areas where it performed modestly in previous elections. Meanwhile, the TMC continues to defend its stronghold, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral outcome.
