The re-conducted NEET examination for nearly 2.2 million students will take place on Sunday under unprecedented security arrangements following the earlier paper leak controversy. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has organised nationwide mock drills to ensure the exam is conducted smoothly, securely, and transparently. Delhi Police has reportedly shut down thousands of Telegram and WhatsApp accounts suspected of facilitating malpractice, while digital monitoring teams will keep a close watch on online activities. Examination centres will be under CCTV surveillance, with 674 coordinators, 6,500 observers, and around 200,000 personnel deployed nationwide. The Indian Air Force has also been involved in the secure transportation of question papers to minimise any risk of leaks. Officials describe the examination as not only a test for students but also a critical assessment of the country’s examination system after last year’s failures. Preparations have been intensified to prevent paper leak networks from exploiting technology and undermining the integrity of the examination process.
