Ahead of the NEET re-examination, authorities have implemented unprecedented security measures to ensure a fair and transparent process after the earlier paper leak controversy. Around 22 lakh candidates are set to appear for the exam, making it not just a test for students but also a major challenge for the examination system. Mock drills are being conducted nationwide, while examination centres are under CCTV surveillance with 674 coordinators and over 6,500 observers deployed. Nearly two lakh personnel have been assigned by the NTA, and Delhi Police has blocked thousands of Telegram and WhatsApp accounts to prevent online malpractice. States including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra have strengthened security, with additional police deployment, AI-based surveillance, biometric verification, jammers, and strict entry protocols. The Indian Air Force has also assisted in the secure transportation of question papers. Candidates have been instructed not to carry electronic gadgets and may only bring permitted items such as admit cards and transparent water bottles. Authorities say every possible step has been taken to ensure the re-exam is conducted smoothly and without any irregularities.
