Mohit Suri titles Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s next film ‘Satranga’ – Report

Mohit Suri titles Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s next film ‘Satranga’ - Report

Director Mohit Suri is reportedly eyeing ‘Satranga’ for his next collaboration with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, following their successful pairing in ‘Saiyaara’. Yash Raj Films is backing this twisted musical romantic drama, aiming for a late 2027 release. The duo will reunite after completing their current projects, promising a more layered love story.

Mohit Suri is reportedly considering ‘Satranga’ as the title for his next film with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda after the success of ‘Saiyaara’. The actor pair is set to reunite for another love story backed by Yash Raj Films, and the new project is being shaped as a twisted musical romantic drama. Variety India has reported that ‘Satranga’ is the first-choice title under discussion. The film was officially announced by Yash Raj Films last week, and the reunion already carries strong buzz because Ahaan and Aneet became a popular onscreen pair with ‘Saiyaara’.

Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda reunion film details

According to Variety India, ‘Satranga’ is still only a working title at this stage. The report adds that the title is registered with T-Series, so it is still unclear whether the makers will secure it for the film. The title fits the film’s reported tone and story. It also brings back memories of Arijit Singh’s hit love song from ‘Animal’ (2023), which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Ahaan and Aneet are reuniting with Mohit Suri for a second time, following ‘Saiyaara’, which became a major romantic box-office success last year. This time, the duo is expected to take on a more layered and unconventional love story. Mohit Suri is currently working on the final draft of the script. The team is expected to begin shooting by the end of this year and is aiming for a late 2027 release.

Mohit Suri’s ‘Satranga’ and YRF lineup update

Before starting this film, both actors are expected to wrap up their current commitments. Ahaan Panday is shooting Ali Abbas Zafar’s action romance. Aneet Padda is working on Maddock Films’ ‘Shakti Shalini’, the next installment in the studio’s horror-comedy universe.Yash Raj Films is also placing strong faith in this second collaboration. While announcing the film, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhwani described it as “more honest, more vulnerable and more enduring.” He said the aim is to create a film that stays with viewers long after it ends. The project also joins a tighter YRF slate. The Aditya Chopra-led banner has been restructuring its Spy Universe after the poor performance of ‘War 2’. This year, only Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s ‘Alpha’ are lined up for release. The company is also co-producing Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 4’, though its production timeline remains uncertain.
