Ram Charan’s sports action drama ‘Peddi’ witnessed another drop in collections as it completed eight days in theatres. After a strong opening week, the film’s daily earnings have gradually slowed.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 6.30 crore net in India on its eighth day. This represents a 16.6 percent decline from the Rs 7.55 crore earned on Day 7.

Worldwide total approaches Rs 280 crore

‘Peddi’s total India net collection has reached Rs 193.55 crore. The India gross collection currently stands at Rs 229.95 crore.The film also continued its overseas run, collecting another Rs 60 lakhs on Thursday. This pushed its international gross collection to Rs 49.40 crore. ‘Peddi’ has now amassed Rs 279.35 crore worldwide. The film is now within touching distance of the Rs 280 crore milestone.

Occupancy remains better in Telugu markets

‘Peddi’ was screened across 7,412 shows on Day 8. The Telugu version continued to attract audiences and registered an overall occupancy of 20.35 percent. The Tamil version recorded a lower overall occupancy of 11.14 percent.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana once again emerged as the film’s strongest territories. The region contributed Rs 5.30 crore gross on Day 8.Karnataka added Rs 55 lakhs while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 25 lakhs. Kerala generated Rs 2 lakhs and the rest of India accounted for Rs 1.30 crore, taking the day’s gross total to Rs 7.42 crore.

Controversy surrounding Janhvi Kapoor’s role

Several viewers criticized certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor’s character and accused the film of objectifying the female lead.As criticism intensified, director Buchi Babu Sana responded publicly and confirmed that corrective measures had been implemented.Speaking to SCREEN, he said, “In this process, a few shots turned misleading. We have taken corrective measures to remove them, and we have removed them.” The filmmakers subsequently edited the scenes in question following the backlash.Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘Peddi’ features Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani.
