Makeup artist Preetisheel Singh sparked conversation once more about Akshaye Khanna’s riveting role as the infamous Rehman Dakait in ‘Dhurandhar’. Sharing nostalgic images from the movie’s dramatic finale, Singh emphasized Khanna’s crucial contribution to the film’s remarkable story. The actor’s chilling interpretation of the villain, who faces a grim fate, remains a hot topic among fans of the franchise.

Look artist Preetisheel Singh has shared a behind-the-scenes throwback from the climax of ‘Dhurandhar’ and put the spotlight back on Akshaye Khanna’s widely discussed turn as Rehman Dakait. The makeup and prosthetics artist posted a series of stills from the film’s final showdown, showing Khanna bloodied and in character, while calling his role central to the blockbuster’s legacy. Her post has drawn fresh attention to the actor’s performance, which became one of the most talked-about parts of the first film after its release on December 5, 2025.

Dhurandhar’s climax scene goes viral again

In her Instagram post, Preetisheel Singh praised Akshaye Khanna’s impact on the franchise and revisited the demanding final sequence from ‘Dhurandhar’. She wrote, “You can talk about the legacy of Dhurandhar, but you can’t talk about it without Akshaye Khanna. He was truly a force to be reckoned with. Here’s a throwback to Akshaye Khanna in the epic climax scene in part 1, which was as intense to shoot as it is to watch. Full throttle all the way!”The post featured stills from the climax scene in which Khanna’s character, Lyari gangster Rehman Dakait, meets a brutal end. In the story, Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, joins forces with his ally Inspector Aslam, played by Sanjay Dutt, to put Rehman Dakait in a condition so severe that he cannot be saved. Even after the killing, Hamza keeps his cover intact and presents himself as a loyal soldier shattered by Rehman Dakait’s death.

Akshaye Khanna’s role in ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise

Khanna played Rehman Dakait, a Lyari gangster based on a real-life figure. The film shows the character expanding his reach into politics to tighten his grip over Lyari. His death at Hamza’s hands marks a major turning point and sets the stage for the events of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.The sequel, released on March 19, 2026, extended the franchise’s box-office run. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ follows Hamza’s rise inside Lyari’s political system while also exploring his backstory and path into espionage. The franchise features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
