Norwegian Cruise Line unveils attractions and dining at Great Tides Waterpark ahead of September debut

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled the attractions, dining concepts and guest experiences that will debut at Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay when it opens on September 4, 2026. Spread across nearly six acres on the cruise line’s 270-acre private island, the waterpark will introduce several industry-first attractions alongside family-friendly experiences as part of NCL’s wider investment in enhancing its Caribbean destination. Among the key attractions are The Wandering River, featuring what NCL describes as the cruise industry’s first immersive river tunnel; The Great Slide, the Caribbean’s only four-person body slide; Splash Cay, a family splash zone; Tidal Tower, home to dual Master Blaster water coasters; and Cliffside Cove, featuring the Caribbean’s tallest cliff jumps. The company said the new additions are designed to provide greater flexibility for guests travelling with families and multi-generational groups while complementing existing experiences across Great Stirrup Cay. Supporting the expanded attractions, the island’s new two-berth pier has opened, allowing ships to berth directly and enabling passengers to spend more time ashore. NCL also introduced several new dining venues that will open alongside the waterpark. Low Tide Smoke will serve barbecue specialities, Catch of the Cay will focus on seafood dishes, while Tidal Treats will offer desserts, ice creams and sweet snacks. Complimentary buffet-style dining will also be available within the waterpark. New beverage outlets include the Grotto Bar, located beneath The Great Slide, and the Floataway Bar, positioned within The Wandering River, allowing guests to enjoy beverages without leaving the water. Drinks will be included for eligible guests under NCL’s Free at Sea unlimited beverage package. Commenting on the upcoming opening, Marc Kazlauskas, President, Norwegian Cruise Line, said the development combines thrill attractions, family activities, dining and relaxation experiences as part of the company’s continued investment in Great Stirrup Cay. The destination will also feature private cabanas within the waterpark, the adults-only Vibe Shore Club, beachfront cabanas and the existing Silver Cove retreat, which offers exclusive villas, a private beach, infinity pool, restaurant and spa facilities. Guests wishing to attend the official opening can sail on Norwegian Luna’s seven-day Caribbean voyage departing August 29, 2026, with the waterpark opening scheduled for September 4, 2026. Day passes for sailings visiting Great Stirrup Cay from September onwards are now available. Go to Source
