American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has unveiled a range of new technology enhancements across its travel, expense and meetings management platforms, aimed at improving programme visibility, traveller experience and operational efficiency.
The updates span Complete by SAP Concur, Egencia, Neo and Guest Travel & Expense (Guest T&E), introducing AI-powered analytics, real-time disruption management, spend visibility and integrated loyalty benefits for corporate travel programmes.
For travel managers, Amex GBT has introduced an AI-powered Travel Manager Dashboard for Egencia customers. Powered by more than a petabyte of travel data, the dashboard provides real-time programme performance insights, including AI-generated summaries, key performance indicators, programme effectiveness scores, proactive alerts and shareable travel programme reviews to reduce manual reporting.
The company has also expanded spend intelligence through leakage reporting in Complete, enabling organisations to identify travel spend occurring outside managed travel programmes. The feature consolidates travel and expense data, including offline bookings, to provide greater visibility across business units, travel categories, vendors and individual travellers.
On the traveller side, the Complete mobile application now includes end-to-end disruption management, offering real-time notifications, self-service itinerary changes, airline fee waivers, personalised recommendations and live chat support within a single platform.
Amex GBT has also launched Perks, a feature that integrates corporate rates, negotiated supplier offers and loyalty programme benefits directly into the booking process. The capability automatically applies eligible discounts and benefits while allowing travellers to validate loyalty memberships and enrol in programmes during booking.
The company’s Guest T&E platform, designed to manage non-employee travel and expenses, is now available across all Amex GBT solutions in the United States and the United Kingdom, with Australia scheduled to follow in the fourth quarter of 2026. Future expansion is planned for Singapore, Belgium, France and Germany. New features include event-specific travel policy controls, simplified guest bookings, compliance tools for healthcare professionals and a centralised Guest Hub for tracking reservations and RSVPs.
Amex GBT said early enterprise deployments have reduced average event creation time from up to four hours to five minutes, while automated reconciliation saves around 10 hours per event and has enabled a self-service booking rate of 94.5 per cent.
Commenting on the announcement, Drew Crawley, President, Amex GBT, said:
“The business travel value conversation is shifting from ‘how much did we spend’ to ‘what did that travel enable’. We are investing in the technology, insights and expertise to support that shift so our customers and travelers can answer that question with confidence.”
Evan Konwiser, Chief Product & Strategy Officer, Amex GBT, added:
“What we’re announcing today reflects the breadth of investment we’re making across our portfolio — from AI-powered program intelligence for travel managers to seamless disruption management for travelers, to a fully integrated solution for non-employee travel. No matter what Amex GBT solution you’re on, you’re going to see the difference. We’re committed to making every part of the managed travel experience smarter, simpler, and more connected.”
