Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has strengthened its internationalisation strategy ahead of its next edition, taking place from September 14 to 19, with the launch of a new professional showroom and an international buyers’ programme designed to boost the commercial profile of Spanish designers in global markets.

The event, organised by IFEMA Madrid together with Madrid City Council, presented these strategic initiatives at a meeting held at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, which brought together representatives from the fashion, communications and innovation sectors, as well as figures from companies including Mercedes-Benz, NARS, Maison Pyramide, ICEX, Modelia, Pyratex, and LinkedIn.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has added new members to its fashion committee, including JW Anderson’s PR manager, Isabel Mascareñas, and designer Ernesto Naranjo, with the aim of strengthening a more global and multidisciplinary vision of the platform’s ecosystem.
The meeting also examined the sector’s main challenges, with particular attention to innovation, internationalisation and the new communication tools that are transforming the industry.
The director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, Asier Labarga, stressed that this strategy seeks to “build a robust ecosystem that goes beyond the catwalk.”
“We want to foster genuine connections between brands, talent, and industry, creating opportunities that support the growth and global profile of Spanish fashion,” he concluded.
