UP Election 2027: Samajwadi Party Holds Brahmin Conference in Lucknow to Strengthen Brahmin Outreach

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party has intensified its outreach to the Brahmin community by organizing a Brahmin conference in Lucknow on the birth anniversary of socialist leader Janeshwar Mishra. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav paid tribute to Janeshwar Mishra and attended the event, which saw participation from Brahmin community members from different parts of the state. The event is being viewed as an attempt by the Samajwadi Party to expand its support base among Brahmin voters, who have traditionally leaned towards the BJP. In the 2022 UP Assembly elections, the BJP received a large share of Brahmin votes, while SP and Congress received significantly fewer. BJP leader Dinesh Sharma criticized the SP’s outreach, claiming that the Brahmin community remains with the BJP and cannot be influenced by political campaigns. The Brahmin vote equation has once again become a key focus in Uttar Pradesh politics ahead of the upcoming elections.
