Heavy rainfall continues to disrupt normal life across several parts of India, triggering floods, waterlogging, and rescue operations. In Delhi, the rising water level of the Yamuna River has prompted authorities to remain on alert and increase monitoring along the riverbanks. In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur and Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, persistent rain has led to severe waterlogging, exposing drainage shortcomings and causing inconvenience to residents and devotees. Rajasthan’s Tonk also witnessed flooded roads and markets after continuous rainfall. In Assam’s Sivasagar and Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, heavy rains caused flooding, affecting villages and daily life. Nagpur in Maharashtra recorded around 180 mm of rainfall within six hours, resulting in flood-like conditions, inundated homes, and rescue operations. School students and staff stranded in the Narendra Nagar area were safely evacuated using a bulldozer. In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rains turned tragic as a Class 4 student in Bulandshahr and an eight-year-old boy in Bareilly were reportedly swept away in overflowing drains. Rescue teams, including police, fire services, and NDRF personnel, continue search and relief operations in the affected areas.
